Kenneth P. O’Malley

Kenneth P. O’Malley, 79 of New London, MO passed away at 6:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his home.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Pastor Ken Martin will officiate. Burial will be at Colony Cemetery in Colony, MO.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.

If you plan on attending the visitation or funeral, please wear a face covering. To maintain physical distancing, you may be asked to wait before entering the funeral home until the number of people in the visitation room has been reduced.

Kenneth was born on June 10, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts to Monica O’Malley.

He was married on June 11, 1994 in New London, MO to Lila F. Schneider. She survives.

Other survivors include his three sisters: Priscilla Gurley of St. Robert, MO Pam Sickler of St. Robert, MO and Patricia Pierson of Florida; one sister in law Lois Otte (Lyle) of Edina, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenneth served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked in home construction for many years before retiring from the Shell Station in New London, MO.

Away from work Kenneth loved to garden, always raising beautiful tomato plants and other vegetables. Kenneth was also a talented cook, he loved to barbeque pork steaks and liked to make chili and salsa. Kenneth’s cats, the NASCAR racing of Dale Earnhardt Jr and Fox News were a few of Kenneth’s favorites. Most of all Kenneth enjoyed his family and friends and the moments they shared together.

Kenneth was a Christian by faith.

Pallbearers will be Brian McMillen, Nick McMillen, Jamie Simmons, Denzil Culp, Jamie Quick and Joey Underhill. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie and Helen Tapley, Beth McMillen, Monica Huff, Sandy Tapley, Dale Glascock and Lenny Benstine.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of New London.
