Forged in Fire-The Making of a Testimony

I believe that we need to show up at the pearly gates with three things. Our names written in the Lamb's book of life, our garment washed in the blood of the Lamb in one hand and our testimony in the other. As your name is checked off (he's here) in the Lamb's book, and the Master asks, “How did you know me?” Your answer will come up out of your testimony for Him. O Lord there was a day when I was hopelessly lost but you found me and brought me home. Many testimonies are forged in the fires of the trials of life and have born much fruit long before we stand at the pearly gates of heaven. The hymn books are full of them, words of songs that came up out of a deep testimony: It Is Well With My Soul, Deeper & Deeper I Go, I've Anchored My Soul. Many penned on death beds and found later. Some thrown into the stove but somehow floated out and were found. Some composed in blindness and severe infirmities, but all testimonies forged in fire.
The word tells us we will be tried like metal in a furnace. So next time that something comes along count it all joy. Let patience have it perfect work, For most likely, it is the Master composing the testimony that you will carry home with you.
O what a happy soul am I
Although I cannot see,
I am resolved that in this world
Content I will be.

How many blessings I enjoy
That other people don't ;
To weep and sigh because I'm blind
I cannot and I won't.
