Petition Requesting Senior Citizen Residential Property Tax Freeze Approved

As previously reported, Monroe County Citizens has been receiving signatures on a petition to have a Senior Citizen Residential Property Tax Freeze Approved for the ballot.
According to the Monroe County Commission, they are in receipt of the petition requesting that the issue of a senior citizen residential property tax freeze be submitted to the voters for approval at the April election. The County Commission is honoring the request of the voters and submitting the issue to the voters in accordance with Missouri law, utilizing the language contained in RSMo Section 137.1050. The said ballot will include the following question:
Shall the County of Monroe exempt senior citizens aged 62 and older from increases in the property tax liability due on such senior citizens' primary residence?
A simple majority is required for passage.
