Monroe County Cancer Supporters Banquet Saturday Night

February 28, 2022

“So many of you have generously donated wonderful items for the auctions at the Blow Cancer Away fundraiser and banquet over the years, and we cannot express how much those donations are appreciated. In fact, that generosity makes for a big job getting those items properly described and identified prior to the auctions! This year we’re going to try to get a head start on that task by doing as much of that as possible prior to set up on Friday evening, March 4; we’d like to get as much as possible done on Tuesday evening, March 1. So, here’s how you can help: if possible, bring your items to the Monroe County Farmers Mutual Insurance (James Insurance Group) office at 125 West Monroe St. in Paris. You can drop them off any time between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It would be most helpful if those items could be delivered before 5:00 next Tuesday, but any time before 5:00 on Friday, the 4th will be OK. Please help us by completing the attached donation form for each item. You can also pick up blank sheets at the Farmers Mutual Insurance office or from Annette Bell at the Paris City Office at 28504 Business Hwy 24. Thank you for helping us, and we plan to see you at Blow Cancer Away on Saturday, March 5. Come hungry!’

‘The Raffle Tickets for our Blow Cancer Away raffle have been printed and are now available for sale. We have decided to offer two items this year instead of three. The items are the processed half of beef from Mike and Lisa Houston (a perennial favorite) and the VERY popular item from last year, a $500 Visa Gift Card. Both are items EVERYBODY could use. Both Barb McCall and Annette Bell have raffle ticket sales packets at their places of work; pick up one from Barb at the TPNB Bank or Annette at the Paris City Office (the new one at 25804 Business Hwy. 24). Remember, ticket purchasers DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. The raffle has been a BIG fundraiser for us; let’s set a NEW record!” John Turner, Vice President

Lynn Duvall with the Madison Community Betterment group (fantastic cooks) has decided on the menu for the Blow Cancer Away meal: boneless smoked pork loin, cheesy potato casserole, green beans, slaw, and homemade rolls. If your mouth isn’t watering you’ve obviously never eaten Lynn’s cooking! The ladies from several churches have promised an assortment of desserts; they always come through in flying colors.

Hope to see everyone at Paris High School, March 5th. Doors open at 5:00pm, Free-Will Donation Dinner served at 6:00pm and Fun-filled Live Auction begins at 7:00pm. There will also be Silent Auction items and Raffle ticket items. Don't miss the fun!
