Mildred Jean Roe

Mildred Jean Roe, 94 of Mexico passed away at 1:15 p.m., December 14, 2020, at the Valley View Nursing Home of Moberly, MO.

Mildred was born on Nov. 30, 1926, in Bluffton, Missouri, the daughter of Everett and Edna (Franklin) Young. On May 19, 1946, in Mexico, she married Eldon S. Roe. Mr. Roe preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1983.

Mrs. Roe was a shoe cutter for Florsheim Shoe in Mexico for many years, as well as being a farm wife in Mexico. After her husband’s passing, Mrs. Roe lived alone in Mexico, MO until she moved to Valley View in 2013.

Survivors include two daughters, Twylla Brown of Perry, and Cathy Cleeton of Moberly; six grandchildren, Travis and Wade Brown of Perry, MO; and Wendy Brown of Cave Creek, AZ, Ashley, Jacob, and Kalea Widaman of Moberly; 13 great grandchildren, Trenton, Ethan, Korbin, and Katelyn Brown, all of Perry, Jacey and Jordan Habighorst, of Cave Creek, AZ., Gracelynn, Americus, Destiny, Austin, Alexis, Jalynne, and Caden all of Moberly; four great-great grandchildren, Gunner and Realea, Auberlin, and Alaia Closser and Oaklen White; three step great grandchildren, Kaley, Kelsey, and Wyatt; two step great-great grandchildren, Kyler and Konnor; one brother, Jesse Young of Montgomery City; and one sister, Martha Berry of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Roe, one daughter Marcy Roe, three brothers, and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.

Due to Covid concerns, graveside services for the family only will be held following cremation.
